This Cookie Policy describes how StoryVox LLC ("StoryVox," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the storyvox.app website and Service. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Summary
We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party tracking pixel that requires consent under EU, UK, or California rules. Because we use only essential cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner.
If we ever add a non-essential cookie or tracker, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, request your consent before that cookie is set.
2. What Is a Cookie
A cookie is a small text file a website places on your device to remember information about you between visits. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB, which serve a similar purpose using the browser's storage rather than cookies. We refer to all of them in this Policy as "cookies" for simplicity.
3. Cookies We Use
We use the following essential cookies and similar technologies:

We do not use any of the following:
- Google Analytics or any other analytics product that sets persistent identifiers
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads tag, or any advertising-network pixel
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Cookie syncing or identity-graph integrations
- Any tracker that requires GDPR consent
If we add product analytics in the future, we will run it in a configuration that does not set persistent tracking cookies, and we will update this Policy.
4. How to Manage Cookies
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings — block them, delete them, or be notified when one is set. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to or use most of the Service. You can find browser-specific instructions at the help pages of your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and others).
You can clear cookies set by the Service by signing out, by clearing your browser's cookies for the storyvox.app domain, or by deleting your account.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret them, and because we do not engage in cross-site tracking — there is nothing to "stop" tracking.
We honor the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal as a "do not sell or share" preference where applicable under California law. We do not sell or share personal information; the practical effect of GPC is therefore the same regardless of whether it is sent. We disclose support for GPC for transparency.
6. Server-Side Logs
We log limited server-side request metadata (IP address, request path, user agent, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and operational debugging. These are not cookies; they are server logs. We retain them for thirty (30) days. Security and authentication event logs are retained for one (1) year. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
The third-party services that operate parts of the Service (described in our Privacy Policy) may set their own essential cookies as required to deliver their function — for example, a CDN may set a cookie used for routing or session affinity. We use only providers whose default essential cookies are limited to operational purposes consistent with this Policy.
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we add a non-essential cookie or tracker, we will obtain consent where required and surface that change with notice.
